⏱️ 2-Minute Dhamma (Ep. 7/10)
“The rigid oak snaps in the howling tempest; the supple bamboo bends gracefully with the gale, surviving unbroken.”
1. Seconds 0–30: The Daily Friction
Meticulously calibrated itineraries shatter: delayed international flights, critical presentation slides crashing, or torrential storms drowning an outdoor celebration. Frustration boils: ‘Why must the cosmos sabotage my efforts?!’
2. Seconds 31–75: The Dharma Paradigm Shift
Suffering is not generated by circumstances; it is generated by demanding that reality bow to your internal script. The masters point to Tathatā (‘Suchness’): things unfold according to converging karmic conditions. Be like water: when blocked by granite, water does not wage war against stone; it flows effortlessly around, carving canyons over time.
3. Seconds 76–105: The 30-Second Micro-Action
For 30 seconds when plans derail: Release all muscular resistance. Breathe deeply. Whisper the sacred phrase: ‘It is as it is. I yield to the present, open to new pathways.’ Center at the 7th base, observing clarity emerge from stillness.
Seconds 106–120: Pocket Wisdom
“Do not demand that the river flow according to your timetable. Yield like bamboo, and no storm can break you.”
Carry this stillness with you into your day. See you in the next episode.
