Executive Summary: Karma of Abandoning Newborn Babies and Children

A case study from the Dream in Dream Kindergarten exposing the devastating doom of severing the bond of blood. Irresponsible parents who abandon their newborn infants in trash cans or orphanages guarantee they will suffer severe heartbreak in hell, be born as abandoned orphans themselves, and face absolute loneliness in all future lifetimes.

1. The Cold-Hearted Parent

In a past life, this woman lived a reckless, hedonistic lifestyle. When she experienced an unplanned pregnancy and gave birth, rather than taking responsibility for her own flesh and blood, she viewed the infant purely as a burden that would ruin her freedom. In a chilling act of cruelty, she “Abandoned Her Crying Newborn Baby in a Trash Dumpster” (or secretly left it at an orphanage), walking away without a single glance backward, leaving the defenseless infant to face starvation, freezing temperatures, and potential death alone. Abandoning a completely helpless, innocent life that relies entirely on you for survival is an atrociously dark karmic act. It completely severs the sacred bond of Metta (Loving-kindness) and carves a massive void of loneliness into the perpetrator’s soul.

2. The Retribution of Karma

  • The 6th Major Hell (Tapana Naraka): The instant she died, her soul was violently pulled into Tapana Naraka. Monstrous hell wardens impaled her on red-hot iron stakes, while terrifying hellhounds relentlessly tore into her chest and devoured her heart. She screamed in unimaginable, endless agony for millions of eons—the exact cosmic penalty for possessing a cold, heartless soul and abandoning her own child.
  • Born as an Orphan and Abandoned at Birth: When the karma eventually permits a human rebirth, the wheel of justice forces her to experience the exact same trauma. The moment she is born, she is karmically guaranteed to be “Abandoned by Her Own Parents, Left in a Dumpster or on the Streets.” She will be forced to grow up as a lonely orphan, completely deprived of parental warmth, love, and security, desperately yearning for an affection she will never receive.
  • Barrenness and Terminal Loneliness: This karmic curse of abandonment will haunt her entire life. Even if she marries and desires a family, she will likely be “Completely Barren or Suffer Repeated Miscarriages.” If she manages to have children, they will inevitably become ungrateful and abandon her in her old age. She is destined to die in absolute, crushing loneliness, mirroring the abandonment she inflicted on her newborn.

3. Spiritual Solutions

Luang Por Dhammajayo issues a heartbreaking warning: “The child you throw away today is the love and family you are throwing away for your next hundred lifetimes.” The karma of abandoning a child creates a terrifying void of isolation. Anyone who has ever abandoned their child, forced an abortion, or refused to pay child support must immediately awaken and repent. If possible, they must reclaim their responsibilities. To desperately attempt to mitigate this severe curse of loneliness, they must “Aggressively Sponsor Orphanages, Foster Abandoned Children, and Donate Food and Warmth to the Destitute.” Only by actively becoming a loving parent to the parentless can they hope to slightly heal the massive karmic wound of abandonment waiting for them.
