⏱️ 2-Minute Dhamma (Ep. 2/10)

“The heaviness of suffering depends not on the severity of the event, but on how many hours, days, or years you refuse to let go.”

1. Seconds 0–30: The Daily Friction

A professor held up a glass of water, asking students: ‘How heavy is this glass?’ Estimates ranged from 200 to 400 grams. The teacher smiled: ‘The absolute weight does not matter. It depends entirely on how long I hold it.’

2. Seconds 31–75: The Dharma Paradigm Shift

‘Hold it for a minute—it feels weightless. Hold it for an hour—your shoulder throbs. Hold it all day—your arm goes numb and paralyzed. The physical weight never changed; the duration did.’ Your resentments, career anxieties, and unspoken grief work identically. Carried past sunset, they paralyze your soul.

3. Seconds 76–105: The 30-Second Micro-Action

In the next 30 seconds: Close your eyes. Name the invisible glass you are clutching right now. Exhale slowly, and visualize yourself physically putting the glass down upon a wooden table. Rest awareness at the 7th base of the mind, enjoying the weightless freedom of empty hands.

Seconds 106–120: Pocket Wisdom

“Put the glass down. You cannot receive tomorrow’s blessings while your hands are clenched around yesterday’s burdens.”

Carry this stillness with you into your day. See you in the next episode.
