Facing bankruptcy, he frantically prayed and made a solemn vow (Bon-Ban) before a sacred Buddha statue and guardian deities. He swore that if his business survived, he would return to make a massive donation and ordain as a monk to honor the Buddha. However, once his business rebounded and thrived, he became intoxicated with wealth. He completely conveniently “forgot” his sacred oath and never fulfilled his promise. Breaking a solemn vow made to the Triple Gem is a severe verbal karma that instantly severs one’s own future prosperity.
2. The Retribution of Karma
- Total Loss of Credibility: In his current life, this karma magnetically dictates that he possesses zero credibility in the eyes of others. Even when he speaks the absolute truth, people inherently distrust him. His business negotiations and contract signings constantly fall through or face inexplicable obstacles, completely stalling his career progression.
- Memory Loss and Speech Impairments: The karma of “forgetting” his own solemn words physically manifests as severe memory disorders (like early-onset Alzheimer’s). Furthermore, he suffers from speech impairments—he may develop a severe stutter or suffer a stroke that leaves him paralyzed and entirely mute.
- Sudden Downfall and Loss of Protection: Because he broke his word, the celestial deities who once protected him withdrew their support. Consequently, when the next crisis hits, he will receive zero assistance from anyone. His thriving business will collapse overnight (Vibati Sombat) with no safety net to save him.
3. Spiritual Solutions
Luang Por Dhammajayo teaches that the Perfection of Truthfulness (Sacca Parami) is one of the ten essential perfections required for enlightenment.
