Executive Summary: Karma of Arson and Destroying Others’ Property
A case study from the Dream in Dream Kindergarten exposing the terrifying consequences of vengeful destruction. Committing arson to destroy the homes and properties of others guarantees the perpetrator will burn in the deepest fire hells, repeatedly lose all their own assets to fire, and ultimately burn to death.
1. The Flames of Vengeance
In a past life, this man was deeply vindictive and consumed by intense envy. When a business dispute with a neighbor escalated and he couldn’t win through legitimate means, he resorted to extreme, cowardly violence: “Arson.” In the dead of night, he deliberately set fire to his rival’s massive warehouse and family home. The raging inferno completely incinerated the victim’s life savings, business, and property into ash, and tragically caused pets and trapped family members to suffocate from smoke inhalation. Obliterating another human’s shelter and lifetime of hard work using fire is a catastrophic sin born of pure hatred.
2. The Retribution of Karma
- The 6th and 7th Major Hells (Tapana & Mahatapana): Upon death, his inner body was instantly sucked into the deepest, most violently burning hells. The hellfire in these realms is millions of times hotter than earthly fire. He is constantly roasted alive, his flesh melting off his bones, only to instantly regenerate and burn again. He will endure this absolute, unceasing agony for uncountable eons without a single second of relief.
- Financial Ruin via Infernos (Vibati Sombat): When the karma dilutes enough for him to be reborn as a human, the karmic fire will relentlessly stalk his assets. No matter how meticulously he builds his wealth, buys luxury homes, or establishes businesses, a sudden “catastrophic fire” will inevitably ignite, incinerating his entire fortune into ashes in the blink of an eye. He will never be able to retain wealth.
- Agonizing Death by Fire: In his current life, the karmic magnet will physically trap him in a massive, inescapable blaze. He will be burned alive in a horrific inferno, suffering severe smoke inhalation and third-degree burns, intimately experiencing the exact suffocating terror and blistering agony he once inflicted on his victims.
3. Spiritual Solutions
Luang Por Dhammajayo teaches that “Fire is the physical manifestation of anger.” When you ignite a fire to destroy someone else, that fire incinerates your own soul first, and will relentlessly hunt you across lifetimes. Destroying another’s property out of vengeance permanently annihilates your own path to wealth. Anyone who has committed arson must urgently generate massive counter-merit by sponsoring the construction of temple pavilions, donating land to Buddhism, or heavily funding firefighting organizations. They must strictly observe the precepts and radiate profound loving-kindness, utilizing the cooling water of Dhamma to extinguish the massive karmic inferno waiting to consume their destiny.
