Executive Summary: Merit of Providing Education to Underprivileged Children
A case study from the Dream in Dream Kindergarten revealing the profound merit of illuminating minds. Providing scholarships and free education to the destitute guarantees the donor a genius-level intellect, supreme academic success, and the ability to rapidly comprehend deep spiritual truths.
1. The Illuminator of Minds
During his lifetime, this man was a teacher possessing a profoundly giving spirit. He noticed many brilliant but deeply impoverished rural students who were about to drop out of school because they couldn’t afford tuition. Without hesitation, he sacrificed his own salary to establish an “Education Fund,” fully sponsoring these destitute children through university. Furthermore, he dedicated his weekends to tutoring them for free. Providing “Vidyadana” (the gift of knowledge) and physically handing a bright future to a child trapped in darkness is one of the absolute highest forms of Panna Parami (Perfection of Wisdom).
2. The Blessings of Giving Education
- Genius-Level Intellect: When reborn as a human, the merit of granting intellectual light directly upgrades his own brain architecture. He will be born a literal “Genius,” possessing an incredibly high IQ and photographic memory. He will learn with astonishing speed, mastering complex subjects effortlessly while others struggle, achieving top-tier academic success without breaking a sweat.
- Revered as a Scholar and Leader: His profound intellect will naturally propel him to the absolute pinnacle of his career. He will become a highly respected scholar, a leading expert, or a visionary executive who commands using pure intelligence. He will be universally revered and his opinions will be deeply respected by society.
- Piercing Comprehension of the Dhamma: When he begins studying and practicing Buddhism, his razor-sharp intellect allows him to “pierce through and deeply comprehend” the Buddha’s teachings instantly. He will experience zero spiritual doubt (Vicikiccha). When he meditates, his perfectly clear mind will illuminate rapidly, allowing him to attain the inner Dhammakaya with miraculous ease.
3. Luang Por’s Teaching
Luang Por Dhammajayo frequently teaches that the gift of Dhamma and knowledge surpasses all other gifts, as wisdom is the ultimate tool for eradicating suffering and building a future. Sponsoring education for the poor, or funding the scriptural studies (Pariyatti) of monks and novices, literally forges a “Sun of Wisdom” inside the donor’s own mind across lifetimes. Anyone who feels they are slow learners, struggles academically, or wishes for their children to be exceptionally bright, must actively sponsor scholarships, donate books, and support educational programs. This merit will perfectly reflect the light of wisdom back onto their own family lineage.
