Executive Summary: Karma of Selling Fake Amulets and Falsely Claiming Miraculous Powers

A case study from the Dream in Dream Kindergarten exposing the terrifying doom of exploiting spiritual faith. Falsely claiming superhuman abilities (Uttarimanussadhamma) or manufacturing and selling fake Buddhist amulets to scam the masses guarantees the perpetrator will suffer severely in hell, be born mute or with a cleft palate, and suffer from debilitating schizophrenia.

1. The Merchant of Fake Faith

In a past life, this man possessed excellent rhetorical skills but weaponized his charisma for massive fraud. He established himself as a fake spiritual master, committing the grave sin of “Falsely Claiming Superhuman Powers” (Uttarimanussadhamma). He brazenly lied to the masses, claiming he possessed the divine eye, divine ear, and could communicate directly with deities. Capitalizing on this fabricated trust, he mass-produced and “Sold Fake Amulets and Fraudulent Talismans” at exorbitant prices. He relentlessly preyed on desperate, suffering people, draining their life savings in exchange for worthless clay. Exploiting the purity of the Buddhist faith as a tool for financial scamming is the most catastrophic form of Musavada (Lying), generating a karmic debt of apocalyptic proportions.

2. The Retribution of Karma

  • The 4th Major Hell (Roruva Naraka): The instant he died, his inner body was violently dragged into Roruva Naraka (the hell of screams, specifically for liars and scammers). Monstrous hell wardens used red-hot iron tongs to rip his tongue from his mouth, relentlessly slicing and dicing it into pieces. He was then force-fed boiling liquid copper, causing him to scream in unimaginable agony for billions of eons—the exact karmic penalty for using his tongue to defraud the masses.
  • Born Mute and with Severe Facial Deformities: When the karma eventually permits a human rebirth, the residual sin actively destroys the biological organs used for communication. He is karmically guaranteed to be born “Mute, Deaf, or with a Severe Cleft Lip and Palate.” His inability to speak clearly will render him a target of mockery and societal disgust, a direct reflection of his past eloquent lies.
  • Zero Credibility and Severe Schizophrenia: The karmic wheel ensures poetic psychological justice for claiming fake spiritual visions. In lives where he can speak, he will suffer the curse of “Zero Credibility”—absolutely no one will ever believe a word he says, even when he speaks the truth. Furthermore, his brain will be heavily afflicted with “Severe Schizophrenia and Hallucinations.” He will constantly hear terrifying voices and see horrific visions, trapped in a paranoid delusion of his own making.

3. Spiritual Solutions

Luang Por Dhammajayo issues a terrifying warning: “The spiritual faith of the public is pure; exploiting it for financial gain is digging your own grave in the deepest hell.” Anyone currently making a living as a fake psychic, a fraudulent medium, or scamming people by selling counterfeit religious amulets must instantly and permanently halt this evil trade. To desperately attempt to mitigate this apocalyptic debt, they must donate every single penny of their fraudulent wealth to charity, flawlessly observe the 4th Precept (vowing to die rather than lie), and dedicate the rest of their lives to propagating the authentic Dhamma. Only by spreading absolute truth can they hope to slightly dilute the terrifying karmic silencing waiting for them.
