Executive Summary: Karma of Adulterating Food and Selling Expired Goods

A case study from the Dream in Dream Kindergarten exposing the horrifying doom of food fraud. Merchants who ruthlessly adulterate food with toxic chemicals, bleach expired meat, or knowingly sell dangerous goods to consumers guarantee they will swallow boiling acid in hell, suffer extreme digestive cancers, and starve to death despite being surrounded by food.

1. The Purveyor of Poison

In a past life, this man was a major food distributor entirely consumed by greed. To slash overhead costs and maximize his profit margins, he engaged in highly unethical and dangerous practices. He routinely took “Rotting, Expired Food and Meat,” heavily bleached them, and used artificial coloring to make them look fresh. Worse, he intentionally “Laced Food with Dangerous Toxic Chemicals, Illegal Preservatives, and Pesticides” to extend their shelf life. He completely ignored the fact that consumers who ate his products suffered from severe food poisoning, chronic diseases, and cancer. Selling poison and rot disguised as nourishment is a terrifying hybrid of Adinnadana (Fraud) and Panatipata (Slow Murder), generating an incredibly corrosive karmic payload.

2. The Retribution of Karma

  • The 1st and 4th Major Hells (Sanjiva and Roruva Naraka): The instant he died, his heavy sins dragged his soul straight into the deepest hells. Hell wardens violently pried his jaws open and forced him to “Swallow Boiling Acid, Red-Hot Coals, and Putrid Maggots.” As the horrific substances traveled down his throat, his internal organs were entirely burned and dissolved. He convulsed in screaming agony, died, and was instantly resurrected to be force-fed poison again. This excruciating torture lasted for millions of eons.
  • Severe, Incurable Digestive Diseases: When the karma permits a human rebirth, the residual toxicity permanently destroys his biological digestive system. He is karmically guaranteed to be born with “Extreme Food Allergies, Severe Intestinal Rot, or Stomach Cancer.” No matter how healthy the food he eats is, his body will violently reject it, causing him to constantly vomit and suffer excruciating abdominal pain.
  • Starving Amidst Abundance (The Tantalus Curse): The wheel of karma ensures flawless, terrifying justice. Even if he is born wealthy and has tables full of expensive, luxurious food in front of him, he “Cannot Swallow a Single Bite.” He will suffer from agonizing, unquenchable hunger and malnutrition, slowly starving to death while staring at the food he cannot eat, exactly mirroring the pain he caused his victims.

3. Spiritual Solutions

Luang Por Dhammajayo issues a severe warning: “He who sells poison disguised as food is purchasing boiling acid for his own throat.” Operating an unethical food business and exploiting the health of consumers is a fast track to the most painful hells. Anyone in the food industry who uses illegal chemicals, re-sells expired goods, or compromises on hygiene must immediately halt these demonic practices. To desperately attempt to mitigate this agonizing future, they must completely reform their business to serve only pure, healthy food. Furthermore, they must heavily sponsor “Free Vegan Soup Kitchens, Offer the Purest, Highest-Quality Food to the Sangha, and Donate Gastrointestinal Medicines to Hospitals.” Only by actively nourishing others with absolute purity can they hope to slightly heal their own doomed digestive tracts.
