Whenever she felt jealous of a coworker or rival, she resorted to “Malicious Gossip, Slander, and Character Assassination.” She would completely invent devastating lies about her targets—accusing them of theft, adultery, or incompetence—and rapidly spread these rumors through the office and social networks. Her toxic lies successfully ruined the careers, marriages, and mental health of several innocent people. Using words to intentionally destroy a human being’s social standing and livelihood (Musavada and Pisunavaca) is a deeply vile karmic crime that rots the perpetrator from the inside out.
2. The Retribution of Karma

To desperately attempt to mitigate this rotting curse, they must aggressively “Speak Only to Praise the Virtues of Others (Piyavaca), Chant the Qualities of the Buddha Daily, and Meditate on Absolute Truth.” Only by actively using their voice to heal and uplift others can they hope to slightly cure the massive rot in their doomed destiny.
