Visakha Bucha Day is the most sacred day in Buddhism, commemorating the birth, enlightenment, and final passing (Parinibbana) of the Lord Buddha. At Wat Phra Dhammakaya, Pathum Thani, Thailand, this day is celebrated with grand ceremonies that devotees can join both in person and online.
When is Visakha Bucha?
The full moon of the 6th lunar month (around May each year) marks Visakha Bucha Day (Buddhist Era). The United Nations officially recognizes this day as the International Day of Vesak, celebrating the Buddha’s three greatest events in one day.
