His calculated tale-bearing fractured the harmonious unity of the monastic brotherhood, splitting the monks into suspicious, arguing factions. While not constituting an irreversible schism (Sanghabheda) of an Anantariya-kamma degree, fracturing the harmony of virtuous preceptors carries severe unwholesome retribution. Recognizing these painful events as the settling of past debts, he resolved never again to engage in divisive speech (Pisunavaca) and sought formal forgiveness before the Triple Gem.
He actively volunteered his organizational talents to support large-scale national assemblies of monastics, international Sangha seminars, and nationwide novice ordination ceremonies.
