EP.22 : Falling Asleep in the Cradle of the Ocean of Merit
Perfect sleep is when the mind falls asleep in the midst of samadhi, in the middle of the cradle of the ocean of merit — open, empty, flowing smoothly into the centre, with brightness, a sphere of light, and the Buddha image.
Just stay there, and forget altogether how many hours have passed, how many hours remain. We will sleep normally, without having to give it any thought.
When we wake up in the morning, if we observe we will see that it is not drowsy, not dazed, not tired, not confused. That is perfect sleep.
It is a deep sleep, a deep slumber with inner wakefulness — a new experience unknown to the people of the world, yet it truly exists in every human being.
