EP.30 : The Chick Pecking the Eggshell
Don’t be annoyed. Don’t lament that we will never have the merit and fortune to see Dhamma like others — that our merit must be little. Don’t think this way, for you will become discouraged, and the thought itself is not correct. In truth, we have abundant merit — we are simply not yet practicing the right way, like a chick inside an eggshell. If it is not yet time, it will not yet hatch into a chick. If we rush day and night, striking it with a stick, we waste our effort and gain no chick to cherish — only egg white and yolk, all smeared about. It must reach its time, its measure, its season.
