The true refuge begins with training the mind

Life brings change, uncertainty, and circumstances we cannot control. External supports can help for a time, but a steady inner mind is a deeper refuge. This episode invites us to notice where we place our happiness and how we are training the mind to become stable.

Meditation begins gently: sit comfortably, relax, and return the mind softly to the center of the body. There is no need to force an experience. As stillness develops little by little, inner peace becomes something we can cultivate directly.

Practice points

  • External conditions change, so do not place all security in them.
  • An inner refuge is developed through consistent practice.
  • Do not rush experiences; preserve ease and stillness.

An inner refuge does not mean escaping daily responsibilities. It means having a stable center from which to meet those responsibilities with calm and awareness.
