Stay active in life while preserving inner stillness

Daily life requires movement: working, speaking, solving problems, and caring for others. Yet physical activity does not have to make the mind restless. The practice is to let the outside world move while keeping an inner sense of stability.

This does not mean withdrawing from life. It means returning to the center of the body from time to time, doing the task in front of us with awareness, and not carrying one worry into every new activity.

Bring it into daily life

  • Settle the mind before beginning an important task.
  • Notice when the mind becomes scattered and gently return.
  • When changing activities, release the previous concern instead of carrying it forward.

With consistent practice, work and meditation can support each other rather than compete with each other.
