In meditation, gently holding an inner object can give the mind a place to rest and gradually become more collected.
The key is not to turn this into staring, forcing, or controlling. If the image is not clear, there is no need to push. If an unusual experience appears, there is no need to become excited or doubtful.
Practice means remaining comfortable and continuous. The inner image is a support for meditation, not an object to chase.
As the mind becomes still, inner experience may become more subtle in its own time. What matters most remains comfort, continuity, and a balanced mind.
