Easy but Deep 2 EP.152: Do Not Let a Passing Emotion Decide for You

Share post:

Sometimes an event lasts only seconds, but the emotion that follows can lead us to words or actions that take much longer to repair.

Emotions Arrive Quickly, Consequences Can Stay

Anger, hurt, and fear are not moral failures. But allowing them to choose our words and actions can create causes we never intended.

A Dhamma Perspective

Mindfulness creates a small space between what happens and how we respond. In that space, we can see more choices and do not have to answer everything immediately.

What You Can Do Today

  • Breathe slowly before responding to something painful.
  • Delay important decisions while you are angry.
  • Ask whether your words will help or only add pain.

One Good Thing Today

Choose one moment of mindful silence instead of saying something that may hurt another person.

Come Back Tomorrow

You do not have to defeat every emotion. Simply do not let every emotion drive your life.
